Rain, Rain, Go Away!

By katrinastonoff

Last night, I ventured into a cold, wet downpour to meet my friend Amy for dinner at Plenty! (great spot if you’re in Olympia). Back at my hotel, I was surprised to see parking spots close to my room, but who questions good luck, right?

I parked and stepped out of my car …

… into six inches of water. My shoes were immediately filled, and my jeans soaked above the ankle.

I did mention it’s raining right? This is the Pacific Northwest. It rains all the time. We’re used to rain, right?

Not any more. Not since last year. Now when it rains, people get a little twitchy. Sure, we’re easily spooked. But this time, it might not be paranoia.

We’re under a flood watch.

Oh my gosh, lol, lol! I’m sorry but you sound just like my sister, Paula. Whenever she re-counts one of her seemingly many miseries, she has me in stitches! What a gift you have. If you apply the same humour to your book as you do to your life, I’d want a copy.
