I’m sitting at a hotel all week, trying to get some work done. But things have come up that made it a bit difficult.
- The hornet in my room. He’s climbing on the window, his wings beating so fast they are nearly invisible. Did I mention the desk is right next to the window?
- The housekeeper who knocks on my door every day and says, “Are you sure there’s nothing you need? It feels funny not to do your room.”
- Alaskan Malamutes that aren’t. Mute, that is. There’s a dog show at the hotel, and in a room either right next to me or below me, someone has left a dog alone. It howls rhythmically, a mournful sound that could drive me to smother myself with a pillow.
- A car alarm that is. Alarming. Literally right below my window. No doubt one of the Malamutes peed on a tire.
On the other hand, room service offers a Bananas Foster White Chocolate Bread Pudding with Candied Nuts and a Wild Turkey Sauce, so I’m good.
I just have to find the Fitness Center.

love the malamutes who weren’t and alarm that was!
and loved the connection. well i’m right now at home and there is no noise, no distractions and if i COULD write then it would have been perfect. so as long as you have the writing ability in there, let the malamutes be not and alarms be, cause you’ve can still do it!!

Brook: Yes. Exactly. And the guy in the next room who turns on his TV at 5:30 a.m. too. I forgot about him (plus, he wasn’t exactly distracting me from writing, just from sleeping).
