Monday Book Giveaway (October 6, 2008)

By katrinastonoff

This weeks winner is <insert drum roll> Ruby! Ruby wins The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry. Ruby, please send your shipping information to katrina (at) stonoff (dot) com, and I’ll get your book in the mail. You’re going to love this book!

For next week, once again, one lucky winner will receive the book of her/his choice. Yep, any book you like (well, any book readily available for $25 or less, not including shipping). To enter, just comment below  with the title of a book you’re Jonesing for (before noonish Sunday, Pacific Time). Then come back next Monday to see if I’ve drawn your name from one of my hats. Contest open to anyone on the planet who has access to reliable mail service. Good luck!

Now, the hat from which Mad Scientist drew Ruby’s name:

This is another vintage hat I purchased on e-bay. It’s made of plush (fake fur, but really good quality), stitched over a stiffened cloth frame. On either side, a whorl hangs down, made of cloth (probably silk) folded into tiny pleats and stitched into a spiral like a conch shell. There’s no tag, but it’s extremely well-made.

The book that I would really love to win is a book that, if ordered from amazon.com is a little bit over $25… like $28.95 to be exact. Unless you are gonna get it from a seller. Then it is available from $14.23.

This wonderful book? Irindy by R. Marie Cluff. I knew the author for a little while and she is awesome. The book is really good; I have one copy of it, but it is the copy that is not complete. She wrote the book with a to be continued and then decided to just finish it off with an extra 100 pages or so a couple of years later.

This is the one that is complete: http://www.amazon.com/Irindy-R-Marie-Cluff/dp/0595429513/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2ZB2PJI4QOILT&colid=8F4PKGDQ1OJJ
