Is it just me, or do all drivers spend part of every day avoiding accidents somebody else seems determined to cause?
Today I was turning right, and an oncoming car turned left in front of me. She’d had plenty of time to turn earlier because the double tractor trailer in front of me turned left (very slowly), but for whatever reason, she waited until I arrived in the intersection to turn, and I had to slam on my brakes to miss her.
I’ll be posting tomorrow about a really close call with a semi that happened on Tuesday, but the point is: this sort of thing happens nearly every day (well, the semi-thing was a bit more extreme than usual). And because I live in the country, outside a small town, and work at home, I don’t even drive that far or that often. And almost never in any real traffic.
Is this normal, or am I some kind of weird, crazy-driver magnet?

No, you’re not alone. I hate driving any more because of the huge neon target that apparently glows around my car. If there’s a maniac or a moron anywhere in the county, he/she is bound to drive right up to me and run me off the road, hang two inches off my back bumper, run red lights as I enter an intersection, or pull out in front of me so that I have to jam on my brakes to keep from killing them. Fun times!
