The doctor recommended a songram test she said the name but everything after the results is a blurr. She said something about stay calm and don't worry ha ha easier said than done. Think i have been cryin ever since I left her office. My husband is unsupportive and seems to be on his way out depending on my choice. i guess my question is how do you do it alone, my oldest is 7 my youngest just turned 1. I want to be prepared well as much as I can be. I dont know anyone with a child with ds but I have been searching the internet for everything I can find on it. Thanks for listening.

Ok not sure if this is the right place to ask anything, I just talked to my doctor how told me after the screening I have a 1 in 30 chance of having a ds baby and I'm scared. I can see that the test arent very accurate. I have two girls niether have ds just feel really alone right now.

SBP software has launched a free online tool that computes First-trimester and Second trimester Screen test.
http://www.sbpsoftware.com/trisomy-risk-calculator.html
No registration is needed to use it, and and it can be used to contrast with risk estimates currently provided by specialized centers.
More stuff about Prenatal Screening avaliable on the website.

Yikes, Michelle. You're the third person I've communicated with today who had a baby with DS after having a negative Triple Screen.

This whole screening thing is squicking me out more and more every day.

You know the funny thing is - I DID have the triple screen done. Not that it made a difference, I just like to be prepared & read books, etc etc - much like you were saying. I would have used my pregnancy to educate myself.

My triple screen came back FINE - and both girls had DS. REALLY accurate test, eh?
