Wanna Come Up to My Room?
Instead of writing a blog entry about my room at the Eagle’s Nest Inn, I thought I’d give you a video tour.
If you are under the illusion that I have any personal dignity at all, please do not watch the video. It will immediately destroy the illusion. And that would be a shame since people who believe I have even a modicum of decorum are very rare. Like supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, “modicum of decorum” is a great phrase to use when you want to impress people. Are you impressed?*
On the video, I look like a total dork. I’ve never done one before — heck, I didn’t even know my camera would do that! I was trying to take a picture of myself on the ferry over to Whidbey Island, and I just couldn’t get it to work. But when I reviewed the pics, I realized I was mistakenly taking videos instead.
Once I realized that, I got the great idea to do this video room tour, but it didn’t occur to me that if I held the camera at arm’s length, it would be looking up my nostrils.
Having been warned, if you insist on viewing my nose hair and want to make fun of my silly, high-pitched voice and googly eyes, click the video below.
At least the room is gorgeous!
*I need an emoticon that shows a tongue in cheek. Any ideas?

The room’s yellow… and very very restful… except for that there disembodied head glaring out from the wall…

Am I weird or what??? That “ghostly face” on the wall looked to me like the lips were pursed, as if ready to kiss!!! However, probably not something you’d be happy for the buss, but at least it makes it seem less harmful. The room is GREAT!!! Maybe we’ll be so lucky in Germany and/or Switzerland?

Mer: ROFL. Yes, I noticed that when I watched the video.
Jayedee: Ah, thanks. I hate pictures of myself — generally my face is either screwed into a weird expression or my mouth is wide open. Or both. But I comfort myself by remember that Keri Noble says the same thing, and I know what she means. She’s very animated, and it’s wonderful in real life but does look kinda funny in stop action. So I tell myself I’m really as gorgeous as Keri is, right? (Now, where IS that tongue-in-cheek emoticon?)
Mom: LOL. Well, I wasn’t about to KISS him! And frankly, I don’t care what our rooms in Germany/Switzerland will be like. They can be tiny, overheated closets on the fourth floor with no elevator, and I’ll still think they’re wonderful. Location, location, location, after all.

How quickly we forget . . . in London, we decided to rule out 4th-floor walk-ups in the future!
But I’d do it the same way again, too.
