Our town has a steam locomotive that pulls a handful of antique cars along a scenic route abandoned by the freight companies. It doesn’t have much a budget to speak of (read: none), and it’s been mostly pulled together by one man with a passion for locomotives.
But it means a lot to the community, and most residents have fond memories of rides on the track. School children ride the train in preschool and kindergarden, and the group gives a free ride once a year to families with disabled members. It’s truly magical to be a part of.
This was part of the track it ran on, where it runs along Twin Peaks Road and intersects with Highway 603. Much of the track is in this condition. I can only imagine what it would cost to repair the track.

This might be the end of our stream train.
