Monday Giveaway! (Oct. 29)

By katrinastonoff

Today’s winner is … <insert drum roll> … Jayedee! Jayedee, please send your mailing address to katrina (at) stonoff (dot) com, and I’ll put The Reincarnationist and Green Darkness in the mail for you!

This week’s giveaway is (once again) your choice of any book I’ve mentioned. I’ve posted reviews here and here, but occasionally I mention books in passing, and those are OK too. If you’d like to be included, just leave a comment here by Sunday, and I’ll draw one person at random.

(BTW, A Book Blogger’s Diary regularly includes book giveaways, so if you’re a book junkie like me, check her out!)

Katrina, I didn’t know that you read Green Darkness! I didn’t see it in the reviews. It’s one of my favorites. A Claddagh ring is described in it (although not by name), decades before they became popular. In fact, when I first read this book, such rings were unheard-of in the US. That was when Beth was a baby, around 1976 or l977. I wanted to have my wedding ring custom-made to that description. But as I turned out, I didn’t get to choose my wedding ring. Never mind, now I have several Claddagh rings, including a very fine one with diamonds and an emerald. I bought that one in Ireland.

ghostofaredrose: It was probably your copy of the book that I read, all those years ago. I did NOT remember, however, that that’s where you learned of the Claddagh rings. I did know that you loved them though. Very cool!

I’m afraid my reviews are WOEFULLY behind. I need to post them more often, or post more at once. I’m trying to decide whether to post the umpteen I’ve read and not reviewed all at once, whether to post only those I like, or whether to try to continue to add them 6-12 at a time until I catch. Or just drop all the ones in the middle and start from now, which would be a shame.
